More about Review Ninja
Start with what needs you
- Start here pulls the few PRs needing a decision or reply to the top.
- What moved shows new commits, comments, reviews, and status changes since your last visit.

Work by whose turn it is
- Move between All, Your move, Waiting on author, and Stalled, or narrow the queue by label.
- Each card explains why it is in that state, what changed since you looked, and the next useful action.

Catch up before opening GitHub
See the PR's purpose, recent activity, CI, review state, labels, size, and unresolved conversations together. Keep private notes with the PR, then open GitHub when you are ready to comment, approve, or request changes.
Choose the PRs you own
Your saved GitHub review query defines the board. Dashboard cards, pull request details, sync, and optional AI all use that same filtered scope.
Stay current without losing your place
The board renders immediately from local data while GitHub refreshes in the background. Seen state, notes, pins, mutes, snoozes, layout, and board membership survive restarts.
Local by design
- Everything Review Ninja persists — the GitHub cache, notes, board state, and review history — lives in local SQLite. There is no Review Ninja cloud account or database.
- Review Ninja asks for a fine-grained, read-only GitHub personal access token scoped to the repositories you select. It needs Pull requests read access; GitHub includes metadata read access.
- The token is kept separately in an encrypted Tauri Stronghold vault. It is not stored in the browser, SQLite database, database backups, macOS Keychain, or local Git mirrors, and it is never returned to the UI after saving.
- Review Ninja makes no GitHub writes. Posting comments and submitting reviews stay on GitHub.

Experimental previews
These previews are off by default while their workflows are still changing. Enable only the ones you want to try in Settings.

Pull request detail
Open a board card into a local catch-up view with its turn rationale, new activity, review state, CI, labels, unresolved conversations, and your notes together before you move to GitHub.

Code review and diff
Run Codex against a local worktree, inspect its summary and findings on the full diff, and read GitHub review conversations beside the code. This requires Pull request detail and a connected local Codex CLI. Generated findings remain local and are never posted to GitHub.

Review cards in background
After sync detects a real diff change, Review Ninja can review open board cards one at a time and skip reviews that are still current. This requires Code review and diff; large boards or frequent changes can use significant Codex tokens.
Board chat
Ask which PRs need you, what changed, or who is blocking whom without leaving the dashboard. Answers use only the pull requests on the applied board. This requires AI mode.
